The freehand tool just doesn't work unless you use XaReg. I'm not that impressed with the object gallery either. It is quicker to just select things on screen. I also hate the way that you now have to jump through hoops to cut and past things that are on different layers. It seems most of the 'duming down' is to to with the web design function. It's pretty cool but how many times are you going to use it really. I've got a black and white job coming up so I'm going to use Expression 3.3. It's 10 year old drawing tools are way in advance of Xara so hopefully it will help me get the job done quicker. I downloaded Inkscape a couple of days ago. Apparently there is a new version soon but even so the current calligraphy tool feels pretty nice. It will be interesting to see where they go with it I don’t know what they are up to. I have adjusted the XaReg settings a few times but still can't get what I want. Oh well, it's still my principle drawing program and I am enjoying some of the other features like the objects gallery, but even that has its glitches like trying to move items from one layer to the next.
